Day trippin' to Cambridge.

In London for less than a week and I took the opportunity to escape the crowds by heading to Cambridge for the day. Just an easy 50 minute train ride from Kings Cross, Cambridge is a cozy university town with lots to offer even on a rainy day. Strolling through the narrow streets of town and warming up in tea shops, you can't help but think of all of the brilliant minds that have popularized the institution. No, I didn't have a chance encounter with Steven Hawking, but I did enjoy catching up with an old friend I haven't seen since touring around New Zealand nearly 3 years ago. Thanks Emily for such a great day despite the incessant rain that seems to follow us around the world!

Boobs, bananas & elephants.

Today was a special day... I got to hang out with my mom and all her friends! Each year they put on their craziest pink then set out to walk 3 miles through the heart if downtown Indy with as part of the Race for the Cure. Over 30,000 participants flooded the streets of Indianapolis to raise awareness for breast cancer... and they even had some support from Indy's resident elephant!

Weekend getaways.

A few weeks ago I got to escape back to one of my favorite childhood places, South Haven, Michigan. Just an hour away from my grandparents house, I remember packing up our beach towels, sunscreen and picnic basket and setting out for long, hot summer days on the beach. South Haven has such an adorable main street, the classic ice cream parlor, and an iconic Great Lakes lighthouse.

On the farm.

I can hardly believe it, but my sister's already back on the horse after giving birth at the end of February! I got to spend a nice sunny Indiana spring day out on the farm to help with feeding the horses, and of course watching little Molly. What a beautiful day!

Little bundle of joy.

Oh little Molly... how lucky am I to be part of your first two months of life! I have to admit that I've been a bit nervous about you... but after the sleepless nights, diaper changes, Sunday night baths, and lots of coos... I'd say we've bonded. I'm so thankful that in just a few months time I'll be able to come back home to see how much you've grown. And if I'm lucky, even hear your first words!

Canada, eh?

I started my weeklong tour of Canada with a stop in Toronto visiting some old New Zealand friends - what a great city! I love how Toronto desperately tries to mimic NYC but has more of a mellow rhythm like DC. I will definitely be back!
